Hoddles Creek Estate was established in 1997 when the D'Anna family decided to establish a vineyard on the property that has been in the family since 1960. The vineyard sits astride Gembrook road and adjacent Hoddles Creek.
Made by the guys at Hoddles Creek; the Wickhams Road wines are made with the same philosophy used with Hoddles Creek. They are single vineyard wines with the care and attention that has made Hoddles Creek such a success. The difference with Wickhams Road is that it has been sourced from trusted growers around Victoria. Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
Stellar drinking, easy appeal, riesling DNA strong and lots of character and detail on offer. For the acid hounds amongst us, the acidity is super bright. For those seeking textural oomph and grip, that’s there too. For those after perfume, juiciness, a cavalcade of mixed citrus fruit, juice and pith, well, guess what, its also in the mix. It’s quite a bold expression in all this going on. And in that, complex, energetic, wickedly drinkable and generally very clever as a wine. At $20 RRP? Pretty much the best riesling in the country from where I sit. Ludicrous! Tasted: Oct 2022 Alcohol: 11.5%; Price: $20; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2030; Rated: 94 Points; Mike Bennie; The Wine Front
