West Cape Howe’s driving philosophy is to make delicious wines with flavour, structure and balance; wines that people love to drink! Established in 1997 it has acquired some of the oldest vineyard resources in the state, giving it unequalled access to the best and most consistent quality fruit that the cool Great Southern region has to offer.
2018 was an exceptional vintage, and King Billy is a very limited production (125 dozen) for the best wine of the vintage. Deeply coloured and still youthful, this is indeed a great cabernet sauvignon. The one curiosity is the price, about half what I expected. It's all cedar and silk, blackcurrant fruit studded with ripe though discreet tannins. Date: Sept 2023; Alcohol: 14.5%; Price: $55.00; Drink by: 2048; Rating: 98 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
