An iron fist in a velvet glove best describes these extraordinary wines. They are fashioned with commitment from the very old vineyard (shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, mataro and muscat of alexandria), with its unique terroir, by Tony and Lita Brady, who rightly see themselves as custodians of a priceless treasure. The 100+-year-old stone winery is virtually unchanged from the day it was built; this is in every sense a treasure beyond price.

Plush, soft and soothing. Effortless and seamless flow. Transparent in a way, a little diffuse, but feels almost, dare I say, pinot like in its suppleness and flow, though the finish is excellent with its al dente, fine tannins and succulence. Amazing tannins actually. Violets, rose hip tea, black plums and faint meatiness with a sweet earth savouriness through the mix. Really delightful, really good. Very distinctive, very intriguing and very delicious. Tasted: Aug 2020; Alcohol: 13.2%; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2038+; Rated: 96+ Points; Mike Bennie; The Wine Front

Dried roses, blood plum, gum leaf, raspberry. Medium-bodied, crisp, perfumed, good amount of chew to the tannin, not quite as fine and mineral this year, though. Cranberry crunch through a long finish. Excellent. Charming. So much character and personality. A beautiful wine. Tasted: Aug 2020; Alcohol: 13.2%; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2022-2038+; Rated: 95+ Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front
