The Tomich family hails from the Adriatic Coast in Croatia where winemaking is a way of life. Jack Tomich Senior arrived in Australia in 1903 bringing with him all of the grape growing and winemaking skills of his forefathers. 3 generations of grape growers and winemakers later, the Tomich family now owns one of the best sites in the Adelaide Hills and had kept its ancestral way of softly farming the land and is pushing for sustainable growing practices.

This Single Vineyard range of wines is handcrafted from Estate-grown fruit from our high altitude, cool climate vineyard. The wines are single varietal: displaying elegance, complexity and dedication to style. Delicate, lifted aromas of passionfruit and lime on the nose. The palate is intensely concentrated flavour of fresh citrus lime, subtle passionfruit, and remarkable fruit purity. This wine is unoaked and displays a delicate minerality with a crisp acid finish.

This address boasts a deft hand with sauvignon, even at this friendly price. Mid-weighted of feel. Waxier and textural, rather than shrill and tropical. I prefer it this way. No paucity of fruit and flavour, however, from hedgerow, guava, green asparagus and sugar snap pea. A little tangy on the finish, but nothing too excessive. There is plenty to appease with this Adelaide Hills wine. It's hard to avoid the focus and sophistication it delivers. Think ruby grapefruit, passionfruit, green melon and a dash of citrus. Some texture and minerality add detail. Chill down and enjoy - great stuff. Date: Sept 2022; Price: $25; Rating: 92 Points; QWine
