Punch Close Planted Yarra Pinot Noir 2019
Planted in 1989, this tiny 0.25ha vineyard houses the oldest close-planted pinot vines in the Yarra Valley. 30% whole bunches, 17 days on skins. Matured 13 months in barrel, 50% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. A very bright, medium, crimson red. Lifted and aromatic with exotic forest-floor fruits, ferrous notes, pomegranate and whole-bunch-derived dried herbs and fennel seeds. The equally impressive palate is concentrated, layered and effortless. This is a pleasure to drink, even now. Ripe, fine and persistent tannins make for a wine that will provide years of enjoyment, but you will need to be quick: only 80 dozen were made. Drink to: 2037; Price: $80.00; Alcohol: 14%; Rating: 96 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion

In Dreams Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2022
Mainly whole berries with around 10% whole bunches. Matured in French oak (10% new) for 10 months. A medium, bright cherry red. An immediately attractive bouquet offering an array of spices to go with the sour cherry and raspberry fruit aromas. Even better on the energetic palate, which is medium bodied, with both bright acidity and fine-grained tannins giving the wine freshness and structure. Definitely over-delivers at this modest price point for good quality Yarra Pinot. Drink by: 2028; Price: $35.00; Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday Wine Companion

Hoddles Creek Pinot Noir 2023
Lovely amount of perfume this year, in with red cherry and other red fruits, some cinnamon, almond, vanilla, and assorted spice from oak, subtle earthiness with a little dried herb too. It’s medium-bodied, kind of light, but gee, there’s no shortage of depth and concentration either. It has bright acidity, fine tannin grip, and a lively finish of excellent length. It took me one smell, and one sip, to know that I really like this vintage. A little more fine-boned. Classic styling, if you will. Date: Apr 2024; Alcohol: 13.2%; Price: $26; Closure: Screwcap; Drink: 2024-2033+; Rated: 93+ Points; Gary Walsh; The Wine Front

DCB Yarra Valley Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020
Picked from the oldest block of Lone Star Creek in Woori Yallock, MV6 Pinot Noir planted. Fragrant red/purple fruit aromas; very good length and balance. Full-bodied in the context of DCB pinot style.
