Rowlee is a family project that has its roots in the Dalmatian wine country on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, where the family tradition of grape growing and wine making began. Revived here in Australia by Nik and Deonne Samodol with the establishment of our single vineyard in Orange, New South Wales.
A blend of Chardonnay (88%) and Pinot Noir (12%), cool fermented in stainless steel tanks and then ten months on yeast lees to assist with texture and complexity. The high percentage of Chardonnay would allow this to have been labelled solely under that grape had they wished. The final result is bone dry. A pale lemon hue, the nose offers spice notes, minerals, lemons, pears and orange rinds with good concentration throughout. The wine is bright and balanced with crunchy acidity and decent length. An appealing style, ideal most especially as an aperitif to enjoy now and for the next few years. Drink to: 2025; Price: $35.00; Rating: 91 Points; Ken Gargett
