The Reschke history and its close relationship with Coonawarra began in 1906 with the establishment of a prime Hereford stud in the heart of the region. It is this cattle grazing heritage that is reflected in the Reschke bull logo, and the names of the premium Reschke wines.
The Vitulus displays a dark ruby colour, with aromas of fresh red fruits such as juicy plum and cranberry, followed by subtle touches of forest floor. The palate presents fresh red cherry and juicy plum, complemented by hints of black pepper spice. Fine-grained tannins and subtle toasted oak create a layered wine with length and persistence.
The flow of flavour is excellent here. This is as seamless as they come and yet it has grain, it has texture. Saturated plum and licorice flavours come infused with mint, roasted cedar, woodsy spice and florals. It's pretty and it's powerful, and it has good extension through the finish. This is a wine that will please a lot of red wine drinkers.
