The Reschke history and its close relationship with Coonawarra began in 1906 with the establishment of a prime Hereford stud in the heart of the region. It is this cattle grazing heritage that is reflected in the Reschke bull logo, and the names of the premium Reschke wines.

This rich and fruit-driven parcel of hand-selected Cabernet fruit presents hints of pepper spice on the fore with flavours of blackberry and cherry. The wine provides a full-bodied structure, silky tannins, and excellent varietal characteristics – for that lasting impression.

Coonawarra Cabernet from a top vintage with some development, making it extremely well priced and ticking all the boxes. From the famous Henry Albert vineyard, specifically blocks 2 and 3, which were planted at the end of last century, with a percentage of whole berries included. After fermentation, the wine went to a mix of French and American barrels and hogsheads for maturation. A vibrant maroon, there is still plenty of oak evident and it will take some time to fully integrate. Spicy notes abound, with nutmeg and vanilla, as well as tobacco leaves, blackberries, cassis, and chocolate. Sleek tannins, zippy acidity and excellent length, the wine is nicely balanced with impressive intensity, and should drink beautifully for twelve to fifteen years. Good stuff. Drink by: 2024-2039; Price: $55.00; Rating: 94 Points; Ken Gargett; Wine Pilot
