Place of Changing Winds is a high-density vineyard located on the southern foothills of Mount Macedon in central Victoria, Australia. The name comes from the original inhabitants, the Wurundjeri people, who named this place Warekilla or Place of Changing Winds. This description still holds true today.
Deep crimson purple. An exotically perfumed bouquet, partly from the inclusion of one-third whole bunches in the ferment and 18 months maturation in used Stockinger barrels. The power and length of the wine are extraordinary, and the 'drink to' date should prove conservative. Date: Feb 2023; Alcohol: 13.7%; Drink by: 2040; Rating: 98 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
