Establishing Pizzini Wines in 1994, Fred and Katrina Pizzini have built the brand based on their passion for family and a strong commitment to their Italian heritage, hard work and determination. These same virtues run through the veins of their children who all work within the business. The Pizzini family have a clear vision – to become Australia’s premium producer of fine Italian style wines. With 30 years of ‘hands-on’ viticultural experience, Fred supports his winemaker son Joel in producing layered and elegant wines rich with texture and flavour; bringing them ever closer to achieving their goal.

Pietra Rossa is suggestive of the iron rich soils (red coloured) of the King Valley. A blend of three vineyard sites. 

Keeps true to an Italian-style sangiovese that is dry, savoury and works in tart fruit and herbal flavours, waking up the tastebuds with a real shake. The fruity friendliness is left behind as we enter sour cherry, redcurrant, dried herbs, bitter chocolate with a once-over-lightly hint of pressed flowers. Focused, running long and building in intensity before an astringent, dry finish. Its quality belies its price.
