Established in 1976, Petaluma has unlocked the great potential of Riesling from the Hanlin Hill Vineyard in Clare, pioneered the Piccadilly Valley and Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills and cemented the pedigree of the Evans Vineyard in Coonawarra, South Australia.
The White Label range are crafted in the same Petaluma philosophy as the highly regard yellow label. The grapes are grown
in the key regions of Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. These wines are perfect to enjoy upon release and compliment occasions with friends, family and food.
Bright and fresh varietal flavours of lemon citrus and fleshy white peaches. The palate has a fine creamy texture, which is complemented by a refreshing natural acid drive; a testament to its cool climate origins.
Ripe peach and grilled nectarine meld with toasty cedar oak to start, followed by some pastry dough complexity from lees contact. Some air allows the fruit notes to fill out and feature. The palate is full bodied and textural, with cedar making way for stone fruit notes akin to the nose and some melon and ripe citrus in support. Some gentle phenolic structure helps shape the finish, framing it all up to medium length. There’s no shortage of flavour and texture here, and a lot of wine for $29. Price: $29.00; January 2025; Rating: 92 Points; Tom Kline; Wine Pilot
