Croser Non Vintage Sparkling stays true to the ‘aperitif’ style of Croser Vintage while signalling an evolution of the Petaluma Croser house style. The wine is a blend of the current vintage Croser with reserve wine from several older vintages – with each vintage adding distinctive qualities to the final blend.
The wine showcases a rich, full blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected sites in the cool climate Piccadilly Valley and other parts of the Adelaide Hills. Hand picked fruit is whole bunch pressed or crushed and pressed, with the free run juice then fermented using Petaluma's specially selected yeast strain in barrique and tank. Rating: 95 Points; James Halliday; Best of the Rest
A complex multi-vintage blend of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir/Chardonnay; has a powerful, layered palate with brioche, creamy notes and a swag of apple and stone fruit flavours; strong finish. Convincing wine. Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion
Has more exuberant fruit than the traditional Croser style; stone fruit, citrus and a hint of strawberry are held in a basket of brioche, dosage spot on, the length impressive. Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion
The long-celebrated expertise of Croser's vintage fizz has filtered down to its bargain-priced non-vintage. A clean and refreshing aperitif blend of Adelaide Hills pinot noir and chardonnay, it carries a fruit-focused appeal of wild strawberries, Golden Delicious apples, wild honey and mixed spice. Rating: 92 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion
64% pinot noir, 36% chardonnay. Plenty of attitude. Strawberry and sweet bread flavours put on a pretty impressive show. Serve this and it won't go unnoticed. There's sweetness here but the base material is good. Indeed all things considered it's pretty keen buying. Rating: 92 Points; Campbell Mattinson
