From a single vineyard in Gruyere. Whole-bunch pressed and barrel fermented in 15% new puncheons. Callie Jemmeson has a good feel for making chardonnay, and it shows on the complex bouquet of white peach, lemon zest, grilled hazelnuts and a soupçon of sea spray. It's mouth-filling and balanced, finishing with a touch of grip on the nicely structured and long finale. Earth goddess’ juice. Tight. Aromas are packed, zipped with flint and bitter orange bite. It opens up. Vanilla curd, green melon skin and slippery flesh, a sprinkle of salt, furry pink peach and notes of musk sticks and star anise lingering in the back. All is savoury and quite nicely composed. Seemingly sweet but keeping your tastebuds engaged with acidity and bitterness running deep. It all came out kinda sexy, but I guess it’s normal when the earth goddess is involved.
