The Mystery Wine concept has been a resounding success and allows us the opportunity to offer genuine savings off real retail prices. Many of these deals are limited to by the dozen but what if we could put together a mixed dozen of our best offers? What we have here is the StarDozen: Mystery Shiraz Pack featuring 3 bottles each from 4 different producers across 4 different regions of Australia which not only scored 95 Points or better from Australia's leading Wine Critics but also shows the diversity of this variety with an example from the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, Bendigo and the Margaret River.
The supplied wine is labelled normally. Our image is randomly distorted to protect the wine's identity.
The StarDozen consists of the following:

Mystery Reserve Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2018
A best barrel selection from all 3 estate vineyards, their multiple parcels and all 12 clones. Some whole bunches, but mostly focused on a whole-berry carbonic-maceration approach, before maturing for 18 months in French barrels, 35% new. Finely sculpted, with sophisticated balance of flavour and structure, delicious concentration of blacker fruits and berries, with fresh acidity, lip-smacking tannins, and white-pepper-led spices. Ticks all the boxes. Drink to: 2030; Date Tasted: March 2021; Alcohol: 14.5%; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; Tony Love; James Halliday Wine Companion
Mystery Super Premium Old Vine Barossa Shiraz 2019
Oh, this is good. This is very good. How do you get such awesome concentrated power and intensity into a controlled almost elegant package that delivers so stylishly? No idea, but someone obviously got this right. A Barossa Shiraz with such poise and polish. Deep dark fruits with licorice, roasted coffee and spicy notes combine to provide such as engaging aroma and palate. It’s had 24 months in French and American oak and yet it is anything but oaky. Terrific. Date: Aug; Price: $150.00; Drink: 2024-2042; Rating: 96 Points; Ray Jordan
Mystery Museum Release Bendigo Shiraz 2007
While frost reduced yields to an insane 20 tonnes for the entire 70 acres, there's no doubting the quality of fruit in this museum release. Aged 18 months in 30% new French barrique and since then gracefully developing more complex flavours. In excellent condition, thanks in part to the screwcap, its deep, dark-garnet hue belying its age, everything beautifully sewn together, the tannins, acidity, the fruit just a hint of black licorice and unctuous aged balsamic. Pitch-perfect now but still plenty of life ahead of it. Date: Jan 2018; Alcohol: 14.5%; Drink by: 2027; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
Mystery Premium Margaret River Shiraz 2022
A cleverly made shiraz that reveals what this variety can deliver in Margaret River. It’s co-fermented with a small amount of spicy viognier and then gets a little carbonic maceration, both of which contribute to its perfumed aromas and bright palate. It then gets 17 months in a mix of French and American oak. Velvety smooth palate, yet there is power here driving a sustained finish. An effortless wine of class. Drink to: 2024-2036; Price: $100.00; Rating: 96 Points; Ray Jordan
