Monterra was founded in 2012 on the basis of an undeniable admiration for almighty Mother Nature, and the desire to bring exceptional wines to Australian tables and beyond. The art of élevage is the skill of blending in the cellar, raising the potential of exceptional grapes to deliver something profound in the bottle. Meticulously blended parcels of wine, and the mystery of specially selected oak barrels deliver intense flavours, complexity and palate length. Élevage wines celebrate the honed skills and years of craftmanship.

Bright and fresh in the glass, with an ever so slight lick of bronze. Pretty aromas of pear drop, baked apple, vanilla, sweet spice and white lily. Fresh, crunchy and full of life on the palate. Flavours are of green apple, pear, just-ripe stone fruit and talc, all doing their thing. Crunchy acidity and some phenolic grip bring on the cut and mouth-feel. Delicious drinking. Drink: 2023 to 2028; Price: $30.00; Alcohol: 12.5%; Rating: 92 Points & Top Rank (#1 of 23 Adelaide Hills Grigio); Aaron Brasher; The Real Review
This Pinot Grigio was just screaming to be drunk, throwing forth a lovely mix of aromas: pear, honeysuckle, hay, rose, salt, melon, with a herbaceous, perfumed edge throughout. The palate is salty and bright, and heftier than expected, making it stand up to – rather than be overwhelmed by – food, particularly with some spice. Date Tasted: November 2023; Price: $30.00; Rating: 92 Points; Brendan Black; Wine Pilot
