Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, renamed since 1945, now operates, in the purist of the burgundy tradition, a large vineyard, from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune, from Marsannay to the south of Dijon to Puligny-Montrachet, including all the most prestigious villages of the Côte: Gevrey-Chambertin, Vougeot, Nuits Saint Georges andSavigny les Beaune, the centre of the exploitation remaining in Vosne Romanée.

The wines from the "Avaux" plot have an accentuated robe of intense and dark color. The bouquet offers a palette of very varied and complex aromas, animal notes on a background of leather and red and black fruits, berries, blackcurrant, Morello cherry. Both silky and dense on the palate, Beaune 1er Cru "Les Avaux" displays a certain distinction and a lot of balance in a warm and ample context. The tannins are expressed but not excessively, beautifully blended with sour cherry flavors and candied nuances.
