Villa Da Vinci is home to the largest vineyards in the countryside of Vinci, the town that was the birthplace of Leonardo. The property consists of the historic sixteenth-century residence "Villa Da Vinci" (formerly Villa of the Uguccioni family and Casale di Valle), a church dedicated to Saints Ippolito and Cassiano (embellished with a painting attributed to Antonio Mini, a pupil of Michelangelo) and over 100 hectares of land, of which 75 are planted with vines. The vineyards of Villa da Vinci have always been considered among the best in the territory of Vinci and Montalbano in terms of exposure, soil, and care of viticulture.
This is more than a wine. It is a true declaration of intent. Linarius is made from a selection of the best Syrah grapes grown in the vineyards on the property around Villa Da Vinci, and fully expresses the characteristics of this variety: the fragrance, intensity and spice of its meaty, purple, fruity colouration. Alcohol: 13.5%; Drink over the next 10 - 15 years.
The 2016 was rated 98 Points by Luca Maroni; Annuario Dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2021 (Best Italian Wines Annual).
