The late Jim Barry was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry. Today the company is headed by Jim's second son Peter. Jim Barry Wines produces their estate wines from family owned vineyards in the Clare Valley and Coonawarra. The Amragh Shiraz, with The McRae Wood Shiraz, The Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon and the Florita Riesling are the super premium wines of the portfolio.

Lovely colour, youthful and vibrant. Dark fruited aromas of plum and blackberry, along with spice, ferrous earth and a lick of eucalyptus. Full-flavoured, juicy and with a core of plump dark fruits. There's a smart drive of complex fruit flavour and then the grippy, granular tannins do their thing and deliver length, texture and presence. Drink: 2024 to 2034; The Real Review
