The 2020 Régnié Vallières is terrific, offering up aromas of cherries, plums and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and succulent, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a long, flavorful finish, it's pure and seamless, with impeccable balance despite the extremes of the vintage. Bottled in mid-May, the 2020 Régnié underwent an eight-day semi-carbonic maceration in order to preserve the juice and impart more typicity. It has a perfumed bouquet of iris and peony scents percolating through black cherries and cassis fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a fine bead of acidity.
