Great interplay of the ripe blackberry and black-cherry character with concentrated, fine tannins, a smoky note interwoven into this tapestry of beautiful darkness. Very long and precise finish with great berry sweetness wrapped around the tannic core. With aeration a wonderful violet aroma emerges. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. Has turned out especially well in this cooler vintage. Wafting from the glass with notes of cherries, mulberries, sweet spices, licorice and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with terrific concentration, melting tannins, lively acids and a long, penetrating finish.
