Deep, dark purple in colour, the nose exudes dark but ripe plum and blackberry with some spice lurking in the distance. The palate displays a kaleidoscope of greater dark fruit characters that fill every corner of the mouth, ably supported by generous, quite silky tannins which add to a brilliant mouthfeel. A big Barossa baby that has already taken its first step with a fair chunk of elegance to boot. Drink now over the next decade.
Still full, bright and deep purple-crimson; carries its alcohol with ease, full of blackberry, plum cake and licorice fruit on the medium to full-bodied palate; the oak and tannins are present, providing balanced support and promising a long life. Drink to: 2030; Price: $40.00; Alcohol: 14.8%; Rating: 94 Points; James Halliday; Wine Companion
