In 1865 Thomas Hardy had the foresight to begin blending grapes from different regions, believing that the blending would enhance the different qualities of the grapes. His vision proved to be right and it has since become the inspiration for the Heritage Reserve Bin (HRB) range.
Excellent colour: very deep and bright, youthfully purple in the rim. The palate is full-bodied and firm, with masses of drying tannins that are well-balanced thanks to the impressive concentration of flavour. The wine is solidly full-bodied and powerful, persistent and finishes with an emphatic burst of tannins which bode well for its long-term future. A super serious, full-bodied red with big structure that is built to age. Great value. Date: May 2021; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $35.00; Drink: 2024-2039; Rating: 94 Points; Huon Hooke; The Real Review
