Grosset Wines philosophy has remained steadfast over thirty years. The emphasis is on purity of fruit. The organically managed vineyards are hand tended, and each bunch of grapes is harvested at optimum ripeness. The winemaking process is gentle and uncomplicated. With dedication, discipline and the application of knowledge garnered through decades of experience, the result is the finest expression of variety and place.
This is once again, from the ultra cool Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills. The extremely low yields from this vineyard ensure intense wines.
Long-term followers of this pristine chardonnay will notice subtle changes in the style of the wine. While remaining entirely from the Piccadilly Valley, the change is mainly due to a different clonal mix. Admirable finesse, powerful perfumes of grapefruit, lime juice and cashews captured in an almost steely framework. More approachable when young but still with the capacity to age. Powerful and refined. Only 300 cases 100% chardonnay, grown in the Piccadilly Valley, Adelaide Hills Barrel fermented exclusively in French oak barriques (40% new) for 10 months; only partial natural malolactic fermentation.
