Layers of deep black cherry fruit intermixed with notions of licorice and tobacco leaf soar from the glass of this medium ruby/purple-tinged 2003. A textural fruit bomb, with loads of lushness as well as nicely integrated spicy oak, this stylish, exuberant offering is ideal for drinking over the next 3-4 years. This 90% Merlot/10% Cabernet Sauvignon cuvee, cropped at 35 hectoliters per hectare. It tops the scales at 14.5% alcohol. The brilliant co-owner, Stephane Derenoncourt, is one of the brains behind this operation.
