Dr Jim Watts, a specialist and professor of surgery and his wife, (registered nurse) Helen began the Fox Creek story in 1984. They purchased a 32 hectare farming property in McLaren Vale and went about planting vines on the black clay soils. The vines thrived, bearing exceptionally high quality and sought after fruit, which was sold to wineries within the region. Ten years later, the family retained a parcel of fruit, which they lovingly crafted into quality wine. The transition from growers to winemakers began and with that Fox Creek Wines was born. The Fox Creek ethic has always been based on respect for the land, a belief in using sustainable practices and a focus on producing outstanding wines in the vineyard. Their philosophy is to produce exceptionally high quality wines characteristic of the McLaren Vale region.

Just the wine for a party, but great for any occasion, or if you want everyone to sit up and take notice! With its dark crimson colour, Vixen is an extraordinary wine. This intensity of colour is matched by its intensity of flavour, which has been described as "Liquid Blackforest Cake". A powerful style of wine, it oozes opulent blackberry, licorice and chocolate flavours and has a lingering semi-dry finish.

A blend of both young and aged wine, it is made from 55% Shiraz, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The bead on the wine is minute and persistent, indicative of its high quality.
