Western Australia's orginal cool climate vineyard, planted in Mount Barker, in the remote Great Southern Wine Region. Forest Hill Vineyard has a celebrated history of acclaimed sites and thoughtful experimentation guiding its pure, progressive, terroir-driven wines. Family-owned and operated since 1965.

Deep purple in colour. Aromas of red plums, dark chocolate, blackberry, and olives. There are some dried lavender and herb characters interwoven too. The palate is medium bodied but dense but with fine tannin profile and juicy primary fruit.

This enchanting cabernet has been produced from a blend of sites on the estate vineyard, including plantings from 1975 and a small parcel from the oldest malbec vines. It has a flawlessly rich palate with abundant blackcurrant fruit embraced by integrated French oak and ripe tannins. Date: Sept 2023; Alcohol: 14%; Price: $35.00; Drink by: 2047; Rating: 96 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
