Chateau Bourdieu dates back to 1464. Located on Bordeaux’ Right Bank in the Cotes de Blaye region. The estates vineyards have a mixture of clay, limestone and gravel soils. Ideal for Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate covers 180 acres and the vines average a mature 35 years of age.

Pristine definition of pure and driving damson, cherry and plum, with understated vanilla oak. Deep and long, the palate reveals a cascade of fleshy black fruits over ripe, fine-grained tannins and fruit-bonded acidity. Lovely stuff. Rating: 95 Points & Gold Medal; Decanter World Wine Awards

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec blend. Rounded, fresh aromas of rum, raisins and menthol. Delicious to drink, as chewy as a Grenache, but textured and slightly tannic with deep dark fruits. Bravo. Rating: 95 Points; Forbes
