The Black Cottage, situated in the heart of the Wairau Valley. They are dedicated to producing a range of wines full of 'gusto'. Combining select parcels of fruit with modern and alternative winemaking techniques, we strive to create very special wines which are approachable and delicious.

Sourced from a single vineyard in the Ormond sub region. Golden apples, yellow grapefruit and slices of star fruit. A lemon balm citrus with jasmine and honeysuckle blossom. Honeycomb wax and a nougatine confection. Fruit is front and centre with lingering acidity and just a touch of cold butter and labneh creaminess. A small portion of malo sits just right. Expect this wine to slip down a little too easily. Drink with a chilled shellfish platter and lots of lemon for squeezing over. Date: April 2023; Rating: 90 Points; Wine Pilot
