The House of Arras is a true expression of its origin and maker – a marriage of exceptional cold climate Tasmanian vineyards and uncompromising sparkling winemaking techniques mastered over decades. The Arras Grand Vintage is the fulfilment of a vision to craft world class sparkling wine. Enriched by the complexity of character that follows six years tirage, yet retains all the brilliant freshness and longevity that will continue to improve with age.
A wine of outstanding quality, enriched by the great complexity of character that follows nine years of tirage. The Arras Grand Vintage retains brilliant freshness and longevity that has exceptional balance and a rich full bodied taste. A mature and sophisticated sparkling wine expressing all the attributes of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the pristine cold climate of Tasmania.
Light-to-mid yellow colour, bright and clear; the bouquet is nutty and lightly toasted bread, nougat and hazelnut while the palate is rich and full yet also very elegant. Ample, flavoursome and falls on the generous side of the ledger as opposed to delicacy. Barrel work is apparent. There's a meaty suggestion of reduction on the mid and end-palates. The finish is soft and rich and it ends pleasingly dry, but not the slightest bit austere. Long aftertaste. In the final analysis, a very satisfying glass of bubbles.
