Trophy for Best Sparkling Rose - 2023 Australian Sparkling Wine Show.
The inaugural release of this wine for House of Arras. A blend of 64/27.4/8.6% pinot noir/chardonnay/pinot meunier; 4 years on tirage, dosage 2.5 g/L. Pale rose gold in the glass with a fine bead and energetic mousse. Aromas of red cherry, red apple and grapefruit are joined by hints of soft spice, freshly baked brioche, grilled nuts, mushroom broth, proving yeast and white and purple flowers. Super focused and complex with an array of gentle spice and pastry notes coming into play, slowly fading on a long, savoury finish. Excellent poise and tension throughout with minerally drive galore and a captivating 'sucking on a river stone' sapidity and textural ache on the exit. A great first-up release. Drink to: 2035; Price: $61.00; Rating: 97 Points & Special Value Star; James Halliday Wine Companion
