Monterra was founded in 2012 on the basis of an undeniable admiration for almighty Mother Nature, and the desire to bring exceptional wines to Australian tables and beyond. The art of élevage is the skill of blending in the cellar, raising the potential of exceptional grapes to deliver something profound in the bottle. Meticulously blended parcels of wine, and the mystery of specially selected oak barrels deliver intense flavours, complexity and palate length. Élevage wines celebrate the honed skills and years of craftmanship.

Ultra-fresh grassy aromas, traces of cut radish, the palate intense and crisp, very bright and bone-dry, with a long carry and refreshing finish. An excellent example of the style. Date: Oct 2023; Alcohol: 12.5%; Price: $30.00; Drink: 2023-2028; Rating: 93 Points & Ranked # 4 for 2023 Sauvignon Blanc from Adelaide Hills; Huon Hooke; The Real Review
Fabulously aromatic and instantly appealing, the wine shows green apple, lemon/lime zest and jalapeno aromas, followed by a vibrant palate that's filled with bright fruit flavours. Upfront and expressive with a lengthy lively finish. Date: Aug 2023; Drink: Now to 2026; Price: $30.00; Rating: 93 Points; Sam Kim; Wine Orbit
I admit to not generally being a huge fan of Sauvignon Blanc, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality on show here. It has some expected aromas of passionfruit, grass and fresh peas, but with added complexity from citrus and ripe melon. The mouthfeel is glorious, with much acid zip, and it was a fantastic wine to either sip by its lonesome or to have with food.
